The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties administers the Environmental Endowment Fund, a permanent endowment for environmental grantmaking.

You can support important work on environmental issues by making your contribution to this area of interest fund. The Community Foundation’s Environmental Subcommittee, Grants Management Committee and Board of Directors approve grantmaking from this fund, which is earmarked only for environmental projects.

In the past, the Community Foundation has supported the projects of diverse organizations, including 1,000 Friends of Florida, Florida Atlantic University’s Pine Jog Environmental Education Center and others. A signature project supported by the fund is Community Foundation’s documentary, The Indian River Lagoon: Gateway to Saving the Everglades. Some recent projects include:

Palm Beach County Green Schools Recognition Program, in partnership with the Pine Jog Environmental Education Center Preserving the natural beauty of Martin Grade, CR 714 through a grant to Sustaining Community Lands. Expanding the sea turtle education program at the Loggerhead Marine Life Center of Juno Beach. Supporting educational programs at the Florida Oceanographic Society.  Partnering with 1000 Friends of Florida to provide environmental education at Jupiter High School. Funding teaching staff at the Environmental Studies Center of Martin County. Developing a watershed curriculum for schools with the Friends of the Loxahatchee River.
